The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, the association has a membership of more than 5,600+ marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.
SMPS offers many benefits and services for its members such as a national marketing and management conference, national seminars and workshops, awards programs, publications, and educational resources to highlight the latest trends and best practices in marketing and business development in the design and construction industries. In addition, SMPS' chapters hold educational events and regular meetings nationwide.
SMPS’ mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for leaders in the building industry. SMPS’ vision is for premier professional service firms to recognize SMPS as their most trusted resource for building business and achieving success.
SMPS relies on its member volunteers for leadership. Chapter presidents, committees, and task forces help and advise the National Society to execute its goals and mission as defined by the National Board of Directors.
