Thank you to all of you that submitted your firm’s work for the SMPS Austin 8th Annual Marketing Communications Awards (MCAs)! If you missed this year's deadline of January 8th, please check back next year! The MCAs are open to all members within the A/E/C industry and serve to recognize firms whose marketing collateral, campaigns, and events achieved their marketing goals in a compelling way.
COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD WINNER
The Community Service Award recognizes an individual of the Austin A/E/C industry who continually demonstrates and promotes volunteerism within the community. The nominees include:
Daniel Woodroffe, PLA
Daniel Woodroffe is the design director, president, and founder of dwg. In a little more than seven years, the studio has grown to a staff of 20 experts in landscape architecture, urban design, master planning and sustainable infrastructure. dwg. attributes this success to innovation and design excellence, which has forged a solid reputation for thinking out of the box, working collaboratively, and building long-lasting relationships. These skillsets are compounded by the firm’s passion for community involvement and leadership – traits that Daniel exemplifies daily. Daniel was recently appointed to the board of directors for the Austin chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as an at-large member to raise awareness of the value of architecture and broaden the influence of architects and urban designers. He is also serving on the search committee for the new professor of Landscape Architecture at UTSOA and is one of the founding board members for the newly-formed Downtown Austin Alliance Parks board.
LEADERSHIP AWARD NOMINEES
The Leadership Award recognizes an individual who demonstrates consistent, driven leadership that impacts their firm and the Austin A/E/C industry as a whole. This person goes out of their way to mentor less-seasoned members of the industry in an effort to create and support the next generation. The nominees include:
Tricia Williamson, CPSM
Tricia began her career as a financial planner but quickly realized she enjoyed selling people’s skills over crunching numbers. She has spent the last 20 years focusing on professional services marketing and has held various in-house positions with smaller firms and Fortune 500 companies. She has worked as an independent consultant for over seven years and currently holds the position as the Central Texas team leader with Jacobs Engineering. She spent eight years on the SMPS Austin chapter board, serving in roles such as treasurer, sponsorship chair, president-elect, president, and past president. Quick to offer assistance regardless of the ask, she has been the keynote speaker for several SMPS lunch & learn programs and has been a Mentor for the SMPS Mentor Protégé program for the last three years. Tricia obtained her CPSM designation in 2010 and continues to serve as a leader, friend, and confidante to many across our industry. She also supports the A/E/C industry outside of SMPS through her role as committee chair for ULI Austin’s Real Estate Development Course and various volunteer positions through Commercial Real Estate Women and AIA Austin.
